Rob Curran

Rob Curran is an Irish writer based in Denton, Texas. His work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Dallas Morning News, McSweeney's Internet Tendency and elsewhere. He is the co-author, with anthropologist Andrew Nelson, of Journey without End: Migration from the Global South through the Americas.

Lasamee Kettavong

Lasamee Kettavong is Lao American and a daughter of refugees. She grew up in Dallas, Texas and moved to Denton for college, fell in love with the town, and has been here ever since. She is a writer, editor, creative, and food business owner. 

Lasamee earned an MA in Philosophy and an MA in Professional and Technical Communication from the University of North Texas. Her professional experience ranges from sustainability reporting as a contractor with the University of Texas at Austin to teaching developmental writing and English composition at Dallas County community colleges and working as a communications and program management professional with Stoke, Denton’s coworking space. Lasamee is currently the program manager for the Laotian American National Alliance, contributing writer to the Lao Food Foundation, and head chef of Good and Golden, her food and culture business.

She co-founded and hosts DTX Writers, a writer’s workshop, based in Denton, Texas and spends much of her time with friends out on the town, eating, drinking, and dancing. The rest of the time she is reading while her three cats nap nearby, working on her family’s memoir, writing in various capacities, and planning Good & Golden’s next big event.

Shea Scott

Shea Scott is a web developer with over 15 years of professional experience. A native Austinite, he relocated to Denton in the summer of 2022, where he immediately felt at home. Shea is an adventurous eater and passionate home cook, always looking to broaden his culinary horizons. He believes in the transformative power of simple ingredients when treated with care and skill, and regularly makes his own mayonnaise (he promises it’s easier than you might think).
